Allan S. Thompson photographs

Scope and Contents The Thompson collection consists of 1,866 glass plate negatives and three lantern slides. There are also 573 contact prints in the collection of which 494 are from the plates. Some of the prints are 8x10 inches and others are 3 ½ inch squares. The prints of the 3 ½ inch images are noted in the finding aid with the notation “(print available) 3 ½.” A list of the 8x10 inch prints can be found at the end of the finding aid. Allcott family papers

Scope and Contents The Allcott family papers consist primarily of letters to Sidney S. Allcott from his brother William and from business associates in Massachusetts and New York. Allcott was involved in land speculation in Eaton and Calhoun Counties, Michigan, and he built the Emerald Mills on Bear Creek in 1848. The correspondence gives a clear picture of the economy in the years 1835-1850, especially with respect to money and banking. Alonzo and J. H. Towner papers

The collection contains a diary (1869-1870) of Alonzo Towner depicting farm life in Bath, Clinton County, Michigan. Added to the back of the diary are the minutes (1902-1910) of board meetings of the Perry Percheron Horse Company, a stud service operating in Perry, Shiawassee County, Michigan, recorded by the acting secretary, J. H. Towner.

This manual outlines the duties and responsibilities of the housemother, which includes advising the chapter, advising individual members, and maintaining the house.
